Norman "Norm" Lingle

Norm Lingle coach Mogadore High football from 1974 to 1991, posting a 150-53-1 record. He guided the Wildcats to Portage County League titles nine times. He was named PCL Coach of the Year three times, Summit County Coach of the Year twice, and Ohio High School Football Coach of the Year twice. Prior to launching his coaching career, Lingle, a 1966 Mogadore High graduate, played baseball for one season at Clemson University and followed that with one season at Ken State, graduating in 1971. Lingle also played four seasons in the Akron AA Baseball league. Lingle has been inducted into the Portage County Hall of Fame and the Ohio High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame. Lingle is a physical education teach in the Mogadore school system and serves as athletic director for Wildcat teams.
